Turkish Educational Fair was held in the West African country Mali and organized by the Turkish Maarif Foundation for the second time this year.
7 Universities from Turkey attended the Educational Fair organized within the Maarif Campus in the capital Bamako. The visitors had the opportunity to learn about the different possibilities to study in the Turkish Universities.
Head of the Turkish Maarif Foundation Social and Cultural Affairs and Orientation Program Department Hamza Özdemir, Councelor to Ministry of National Education of Mali Issiaka Niambele and Turkish Maarif Foundation Director in Mali Eşref Birinci attended the program that started with the speech of the Turkish Ambassador in Bamako Murat Mustafa Onart.
After the opening speeches, the participants visited the stands of the universities. The students showed great interest in the stand of the universities from Turkey. The universities gave information about the faculties by distributing the materials they prepared for the students.
Turkish Ambassador in Mali Onart declared that the Turkish Educational Fair, organized for the first time in Mali, would reinforce the ties between the two countries.
Expressing that it was essential the students got informed about Turkish Universities, Onart said: “We were pleased that the second educational fair organized by the Turkish Maarif Foundation was held in Mali. We follow the work of the Foundation in Mali closely with great interest. The fact that Malian Students choose Turkey for their higher education will further the relations between the two countries.”
Stating that the fair was a good opportunity to present the universities to the Malian students, Turkish Maarif Foundation Director in Mali Eşref Birinci said: “This fair is a great opportunity both for the 232 students of our Foundation and for the other students. There is a great interest for Turkey and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from the Malian population. From now on the students may choose to study in Turkey instead of the occidental countries. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Malian authorities to permit us to organize this fair and all the teachers who have contributed a lot before and during the fair.”
The parents of the participating students stated that they were very pleased that Turkish universities came to Bamako.
Participants from the surrounding cities have also received detailed information from the universities for two days.
Turkish Maarif Foundation's third educational fair will be held next month in Tunisia.
